Okay, Here's The Deal About Jesus...

Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus was a man but he was God in the flesh. Confusing? Yeah, you bet! But here's another way of looking at it: In the beginning God made everything and it was cool until humans (Adam and Eve) messed up and sinned. The sin was the act of disobeying God, not so much that they were chomping down on the forbidden fruit or whatever. Think about it. We all disobey God and none of us are perfect. So where did that leave us humans? God had people make sacrifices of blood to Him. They sacrificed sheep, goats, and calves. Alot of people did it but then the Jews kinda got tired of that in favor of worshipping idols and stuff like that. Off and on, they would get back in God's favor. They constantly disobeyed God and they ended up in slavery for much of their history. They'd get it together for awhile but they seemed to end up in the doghouse again and again. Here's where Jesus comes in. Jesus was not a new idea. He was prophesied for a long time. It was even prophesied that he would suffer at the hands of his people. He came to this earth by being sent by God (the Father) to die for our sins. Jesus would be the sacrifice so that we would not have to keep killing sheep and goats and all that. Being faultless and without sin, Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice. He not only got crucified for His trouble, He defeated death and Hell too. Kicked some major butt! So now whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have eternal life. We're not talking the fountain of youth, we're talking spiritual life and spiritual death. Jesus didn't come here to set up a kingdom and reign supreme. He didn't come to turn us all into little robots and kill everyone who opposed Him. On the contrary, Jesus hung out with some radical folks. Not the Pharisees (the religious right of His day) or the cool rich folks with the fancy sports chariots (ha ha ha). No, Jesus chose to learn alot in the synagogue and then he started running around with a tax collector (a lower form of life even back in those days), a hooker, some big burly fishermen who fought and drank and all that, and he loved them for the person inside, not for who they were before He came along. Now, as I said before, Jesus Rocks!!! This means that to rock, you have to exist. I believe he existed and EXISTS today. they didn't find His skull over there in the Middle east recently. How the heck would they know it was His skull? Half those scientists don't even believe He existed in the first place. Their loss. I guess they are happy going to bed at night thinking that the world is in chaos and there is nothing keeping order in the universe. How bleak! I was raised in a semi religious family. My mom took us to church whenever the doors were open. I sang in church once when I was about 3 or 4 years old. It wasn't until I was 11 or 12 that I realized that Jesus was a real person. I asked Jesus (through prayer) to come into my heart and save me from an eternity in Hell. What? You ask if you HAVE to have Jesus? Why not Buddha or Mohammed? Why not just being a good person? Why not being a clergyman or a religious person? Let me tell you this up front: You need Jesus. Only Jesus can do the job. Buddha is dead. Mohammed is dead. Good people go to Hell because they do not have Jesus Christ in their lives. Religious people go to Hell because they did not have Jesus Christ in their lives. New age spirituality is a crock of horse feces. It's all or nothing: Jesus or Hell. Satan didn't pay for your sins. Neither did Buddhga or Mohammed. Neither did Marilyn Manson or Axl Rose. When I was 23 years old, I was in a band in Phoenix, Arizona and we played a gig at Mesa Amphitheater on Halloween Night, 1986. I had laryngitis and could barely talk. We prayed and we went onstage. I sang exceptionally well that night. I think we got a message out to some people that Jesus is alive and well, prepariong for His church to meet Him in the air at any moment. God didn't do that necessarily to let people know how good I could sing (some would argue that I really can't sing). He did it to get to people. I have a friend in Phoenix who met Gene Simmons of Kiss. Dale had a shirt on of a Christian rock band's logo. Gene asked Dale about it and then Dale was cool about it. Gene was waiting for a lecture about God but it didn't come. Gene Simmons, world famous rock star, grabbed dale, hugged him and said to Dale, "Thanks for not trying to shove something down my throat." Maybe Dale sowed a seed by being crafty there. I hope Gene Simmons makes it to Heaven and plays in the rockingest band there but we'll be praising Jesus, not sex, violence, or drugs. Not that Gene is into drugs (he isn't). I'm not here to criticize rock and roll because, for one, I like it. I can separate reality from fantasy and I know Jesus is real. Some of these established Christian Rock groups or artists are so boring it makes me wanna hurl. We should be praising Jesus all the time, not falling into a coma or something! A friend of mine died the other day. He was saved and I pray that he made it to Heaven. I have to praise God about this no matter where my friend's soul is because it is a choice we make. I make the choice of being a bliever or not (a no brainer since not belieiving sends my lazy butt to the eternal fires of Hell). So Jesus rocks. He saves. He heals. He lives in you and me. If you are not a believer, try this out. Get on your knees (or maybe not if you have a problem with that) and pray to Jesus. With your mouth, just call out to Jesus, "Dear Lord, it's just me. I've done some things in the past and not so long ago that were bad or at least were not what you would want me to do. I'm a sinner and I need you, Lord, so that I can be free of religious guilt, free of being in the mire of a sick or dark lifestyle, free of being a slave to the world and it's shining cheap thrills. I believe in you, Jesus, and I believe that you died for my sins on a cross of wood. I believe you rose from the dead and gained victory over Death, Hell, and the Grave. I believe that I can submit myself to your love rather than the pain of this world. I am free now. Free. In your name, I pray, Amen." It doesn't have to be those words, but it needs to be from your heart, not your head. Jesus (actually that is His greek name. His Hebrew name was Yeshua (last name, I can't remember) will open His arms wide for even the scuzziest of us who wants to be one of His sheep (we often refer to Him as a Shepherd of Men...women too, of course). NO MATTER WHAT YOU HAVE DONE, YOU CAN BE FORGIVEN. Just ask Jesus. Don't let Satan try to steal your good feelings away with his doubts and lies. Satan is real too. He's a real turd. He's defeated already and he knows this. Satan, at this point knows he's dead duck, so he hopes to bring down as many of us as he can.
